Free Comic Book Script - The Chase by Stephen Sonneveld
Theme: Crom Myth
16 Pages
The Chase Summary:
Crom journeys with a warrior named Zaka to broker peace between two long-warring tribes through a diplomatic visit to Zaka’s lost love, Star, who was married off to the rival chieftain. Upon arrival, they discover a horror: Star has been murdered and skinned, her flesh grotesquely worn by the enemy chieftain. (Inspired by an actual, similar event from Aztec history.) Zaka attacks and chaos erupts. After a fierce battle, Crom and Zaka flee into the jungle, pursued by enemy warriors.
Their flight becomes a brutal survival game through dense, tiger-filled terrain. Zaka is mortally wounded and sacrifices himself so Crom can escape. Crom uses guerrilla tactics and traps to eliminate the pursuing warriors one by one, eventually defeating their leader, War Dog, in a dramatic waterfall showdown.
In the end, Crom vows to tell Zaka’s people of the treachery and lead them to vengeance, swearing justice for the slain and a reckoning for broken peace.
